Child safety standards
Unera is an 18+ social app for Erasmus and international students. This page explains our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), underage accounts, reporting, and moderation review.
1. Age restrictions
- Users must be at least 18 years old to create or use a Unera account.
- Minors are not permitted on Unera.
- Accounts identified as underage may be suspended, deactivated, or removed.
- Users must not pretend to be older or help a minor access the app.
2. Zero tolerance for CSAE
Unera has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse or exploitation, grooming, sexualized content involving minors, or attempts to contact minors for inappropriate purposes.
- Do not upload, request, share, describe, promote, or link to CSAE or child sexual abuse material.
- Do not use Unera to groom, exploit, threaten, blackmail, or sexualize minors.
- Do not create accounts, events, groups, profiles, or messages that encourage harm to minors.
Violations may result in immediate account removal and escalation to relevant authorities where required or appropriate.
3. How to report
Users can report unsafe profiles, messages, chats, groups, events, or other content from inside the app using reporting tools. Users can also block unwanted contact.
For urgent child safety, underage account, CSAE, grooming, or exploitation concerns, email info@unera.app with enough detail for us to identify the account or content. Do not send illegal material by email unless specifically instructed by lawful authorities.
4. Moderation review
- Reports are reviewed by Unera moderators or admins.
- We may review reported profiles, messages, group details, event details, report descriptions, and moderation history.
- Urgent child safety and CSAE reports are prioritized.
- Accounts may be restricted while a serious report is being reviewed.
- We may preserve limited evidence where needed for safety, legal compliance, or authority requests.
5. Prevention measures
- 18+ eligibility rule in legal terms and onboarding expectations.
- University email verification as a trust layer.
- Profile, message, group, and event reporting tools.
- Blocking tools for unwanted contact.
- Manual review of serious reports and repeat-abuse signals.
- Enforcement through warnings, restrictions, suspension, deactivation, or account deletion.
6. Cooperation with authorities
Where required or appropriate under applicable law, we may report CSAE, child endangerment, grooming, exploitation, credible threats, or serious harm to law enforcement, child safety organizations, app stores, or other competent authorities.
7. User responsibilities
- Use Unera only if you are 18 or older.
- Report suspected underage accounts or child safety risks immediately.
- Do not share private information about minors or attempt to move unsafe conversations off-platform.
- Follow our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
